StepManiaX is a five-panel, step-based exergaming machine from Step Revolution, built for commercial deployment in fitness centers, family entertainment centers, education facilities, and competitive e-sports venues. The platform combines over two years of industrial hardware development — featuring traditional pressure sensors paired with a self-calibrating LED lighting system — with a continuously updated library of over 300 songs, a large touchscreen interface, and seven difficulty modes spanning solo and two-player shared-stage play. Step Revolution's development team brings direct lineage from StepMania, In the Groove, Pump It Up Pro, and ReRave.

How It Plays

The player steps onto the illuminated five-panel stage and hits each lit panel in time with the scrolling note chart — including the center panel, which appears mid-chart to break the rhythm of side-to-side patterns and force continuous foot movement. From across the room, the stage surface pulses with each confirmed input, creating a visible light-response pattern that maps the player's timing in real time. In Team mode, two players share the full stage simultaneously, splitting the note chart between them.
