A coin-operated claw crane machine built for street locations, bars, bowling centers, and FECs, featuring 180° full-view prize visibility and a bold LED-lit black cabinet.

Overview

The Toy Chest XL Winners Club Edition is Smart Industries' updated take on their XL claw crane line, redesigned with a sleek black cabinet, vibrant multi-zone LED lighting, and bold new graphics aimed at street locations, bars, and bowling centers alongside traditional FEC environments. The 41" cabinet features the first 180° full-view prize window design introduced to the US market when the XL line launched, giving players an unobstructed view of prizes from the front and both sides. Smart Industries was established in 1979 and developed the first US-manufactured crane in 1985 — the Winners Club Edition marks the company's 40th year of crane manufacturing and ships with an exclusive one-year limited warranty.

Key Features

180° Full-View Prize Window

The cabinet's panoramic prize window provides unobstructed visibility from the front and both sides, allowing players to see the full prize field before and during play. This was the first design of its kind introduced to the US market when Smart Industries launched the XL line.

Multi-Zone LED Lighting Package

The Winners Club Edition includes LED lighting across five distinct zones: the prize door frame, front and side top marquee, edge-lit dual coin comparators, and upper and lower frame (floor casting) edges. Together these create a high-visibility presence on the floor without requiring additional signage.

High-Security Steel Cabinet Construction

The console is constructed from 18-gauge steel and features steel security padlock tabs on both the console and front glass door. The cabinet uses tempered safety glass, is tamper-resistant and coat-hanger proof, and the coin box locks independently from the main cabinet for separate access control.

Play Till You Win Mode

An on/off dip switch setting enables or disables a "Play Till You Win" mode, giving operators control over the prize guarantee mechanic depending on their location and player base.

Flexible Prize Configuration

The high-volume capacity playfield accommodates plush toys, candy, jewelry, and novelty items. Optional raised playfield and back wall shelving kits allow operators to adapt the cabinet for smaller or higher-value merchandise without purchasing a separate machine.

DBA Ready with Interactive Sound

The machine is DBA (dollar bill acceptor) ready, supporting cashless or multi-denomination play configurations. An interactive sound system provides audio feedback throughout gameplay.

How It Plays

Players insert coins or credits and use the 4-way joystick to maneuver the medium claw assembly over their chosen prize. A credit and timer display (7-segment LED) shows remaining time and credits during play. When the player releases the joystick, the claw descends, attempts to grip the prize, and transports it toward the prize hole — a 7.5" x 9" opening on the 41" cabinet.

Operator Notes

Available Options

The following options are available to configure the cabinet for different prize types and setups: Raised Playfield (for displaying smaller items), Jewelry Kit (includes raised playfield, back wall shelves, and gravel), Back Wall Display Shelves, Small or Large Claw Assembly (in place of the standard medium), and a 220 Volt AC Transformer for international power requirements.

Two Cabinet Sizes Available

The Winners Club Edition is offered in both 31" and 41" cabinet sizes. Both are designed to fit through standard doorways, which simplifies installation in locations with restricted access such as bars or retail corridors.

Independent Coin Box Access

The coin box locks independently from the main cabinet, allowing cash collection without opening the full machine. This is a practical consideration for route operators or locations where the machine is serviced by a separate technician.

Tamper Resistance

The cabinet is constructed to be tamper-resistant and coat-hanger proof. Steel padlock tabs are present on both the console and the front glass door as additional physical security measures — particularly relevant for unsupervised or street locations.

Manufacturer Support and Parts

Smart Industries operates as a US-based manufacturer with over 40 years in the amusement industry. Technical support and parts sourcing are backed by domestic operations, which can reduce lead times on service needs compared to overseas manufacturers. The company specializes in claw cranes, redemption, and self-merchandisers.

Ideal Placement

The Winners Club Edition is purpose-designed to fit into bars, nightclubs, bowling centers, pool halls, and similar adult-oriented street locations, while remaining equally suitable for family entertainment centers, arcades, and redemption rooms. The compact footprint and standard-doorway-compatible sizing make it viable for locations with limited floor space or restricted entry points.
