A 22-inch-square footprint. Two prize tiers. One 3-finger scoop claw drops through candy and showcase items at once.

Overview

The Smart Industries Candy Crane SE (CCSE) is a compact redemption crane standing 60 inches tall on a 22 x 22 inch floor footprint, built to fit locations where full-size cranes cannot. Its defining feature is a dual-prize configuration: players can win loose candy from the main play area and premium showcase items displayed in the top box, giving a single cabinet two distinct prize tiers. The CCSE ships with an 18-gauge steel cabinet, tempered safety glass, and a full suite of standard security and payment features ready out of the box.

Key Features

Dual-Prize Top Display Box

The top box sits above the main candy play field and holds premium showcase items separately from the loose candy below. It ships display-ready and is also configurable as a trade-up prize zone, giving operators a second merchandise tier inside the same footprint.

180-Degree Prize Visibility with Clear LEXAN Corner Panels

Corner panels are fabricated from clear LEXAN polycarbonate, opening the prize field to a 180-degree viewing arc. The candy and showcase inventory are visible from in front of the machine and from both side approaches. Clear acrylic rear display shelves carry the visibility through the back of the top box as well.

DBA and Swipe Card Ready — Simultaneous Support

The cabinet is wired to accept both a dollar bill acceptor and a swipe card reader at the same time, with no internal modification required. An optional DBA with a 300-note bill stacker (Pyramid, ICT, or MEI) is available. This means operators can run cash and cashless payment on the same unit without choosing one over the other.

Electronic Prize Detection System with "Play Till You Win" Setting

Onboard electronics detect when a prize clears the chute. The "Play Till You Win" setting uses this detection to guarantee a win within a configurable play count, which operators set from the service menu. The LCD credit and timer display shows the current game state to the player in real time.

Tamper-Resistant Cabinet Construction

The cabinet is built from heavy-duty 18-gauge steel and is engineered to be coat hanger-proof. A steel padlock security tab secures the main door, and all glass panels are tempered safety glass. The large prize chute measures 6 inches wide by 8 inches tall, sized to pass larger candy pieces and small plush prizes cleanly.

How It Plays

The player uses the precision 4-way joystick to position the 3-finger scoop claw over the candy pile, then releases it to descend and scoop. A successful grab drops through the 6 x 8 inch prize chute and into the retrieval area below. From outside the cabinet, the LEXAN corner panels keep the full candy pile and the top-box showcase items in view throughout the play cycle, so bystanders see exactly what the claw lands in.

Why Operators Love It

22 x 22 Inch Footprint Fills Slots Full-Size Cranes Cannot

At 22 x 22 inches, the CCSE occupies roughly one-quarter the floor space of a standard four-player crane. It fits end-of-row positions, narrow corridors, lobby alcoves, and counter-adjacent placements that are otherwise unused floor space on a route or FEC floor.

Steel Padlock Tab and Coat Hanger-Proof Cabinet Reduce Theft Risk

The main door secures with a steel padlock tab rather than a standard pin lock, and the cabinet seams are engineered to block coat hanger manipulation. Both measures address the two most common physical tamper vectors on candy crane deployments.

Configurable Win Rate via Onboard "Play Till You Win" Settings

The prize detection system feeds directly into the play-till-you-win setting, which operators adjust from the service menu without opening the prize field. This lets each location dial in a win frequency independently — useful when the same model sits on a low-margin route stop and a high-volume FEC floor simultaneously.

Optional Plush Claw Assembly Converts Prize Type in the Field

An optional plush claw assembly is available for locations that want to run small plush prizes instead of candy. Swapping claw assemblies changes the prize category the cabinet serves, extending its placement flexibility across different venue demographics without requiring a second cabinet model.

Frequently Asked Questions

What prizes can the Smart Industries Candy Crane SE hold?

The main play area is filled with loose candy scooped by the 3-finger claw, while the top display box holds premium showcase items such as small plush or packaged goods. An optional plush claw assembly is also available for operators who want to run small plush prizes throughout the full cabinet instead of candy.

Does the Candy Crane SE accept cashless payment?

Yes. The CCSE is wired to accept a dollar bill acceptor and a swipe card reader simultaneously, with no internal modification. An optional DBA with a 300-note bill stacker is available in Pyramid, ICT, or MEI configurations.

What is the assembled footprint of the Smart Industries Candy Crane SE?

The CCSE measures 22 inches wide by 22 inches deep by 60 inches tall assembled. That footprint is significantly smaller than a standard crane cabinet, making it suitable for end-cap, corridor, and counter-adjacent placements.

What warranty does the Candy Crane SE carry?

Smart Industries covers the CCSE with a 1-Year Limited Warranty. Technical support is available through Smart Industries for questions that arise during the warranty period or beyond.

Ideal Placement

The CCSE's 22 x 22 inch floor footprint makes it a natural fit for pizzeria waiting areas, restaurant lobbies, convenience store game corners, mini-golf clubhouses, and trampoline park entries — anywhere a full-size crane would not fit against a wall or at the end of a row. It also works as a secondary unit in FEC and bowling center arcade rooms where primary cranes already anchor the floor plan and a compact add-on fills the remaining open slots.
