The basket slides left and right across the backboard. The speed changes mid-game. PAC-MAN branded balls cycle back through the return tray after every shot.
Overview
PAC-MAN Baller is a Bandai Namco basketball shooting redemption game themed around the classic PAC-MAN franchise, with branded basketballs, signature sound effects, and character visuals across the cabinet. The defining mechanic is a horizontally moving basket that shifts position and speed through multiple escalating difficulty stages. Up to four units can be linked together for simultaneous head-to-head competitive play.
Key Features
Horizontally Moving Basket with Escalating Difficulty
The basket travels left and right across the backboard during play, and its speed and pattern shift as the game progresses through difficulty stages. Players must read the basket's current position and time each shot to a moving target — the same shot that scored on one attempt may miss on the next.
PAC-MAN Branded Basketballs and Cabinet Theming
The balls returned to the player tray are PAC-MAN branded, extending the IP theming to every physical touchpoint. Cabinet graphics, colors, and audio pull from the original PAC-MAN franchise, including familiar in-game sound effects recognizable across age groups.
High-Quality Audio System with Bass Subwoofer
The cabinet ships with high-quality speakers and a bass subwoofer, producing PAC-MAN sound effects at a volume and fidelity level suited to open arcade floors. Audio volume is adjustable through the built-in operator menu for venues with lower ambient noise thresholds.
Multi-Unit Linking for Head-to-Head Competition
Up to four PAC-MAN Baller units can be linked so players on adjacent machines compete simultaneously. The competitive format is built into the base game; linking extends that competition across a bank of up to four cabinets without additional infrastructure.
Adjustable Roof Configuration
The cabinet roof can be positioned down or raised, giving operators two installed height options — 103 inches with the roof down or approximately 107 inches with the roof up — to accommodate venues with varying ceiling clearance.
Coin-Op Default with Free Play Option
The machine ships coin-operated by default. Operators can switch between coin-op and free play modes through the built-in menu — no hardware modification required.
How It Plays
The player shoots PAC-MAN branded basketballs at a basket that slides horizontally across the backboard — the target position and speed change as each game stage advances, so every attempt is a fresh timing read. Each ball that cycles back through the return tray is another shot opportunity, and difficulty ramps automatically through multiple stages with tighter movement patterns. From the arcade floor, the lateral basket movement and branded balls cycling through the return tray read clearly at a distance, and a four-unit linked bank makes simultaneous multi-player competition visible across the entire installation.

Why Operators Love It
Scalable Bank Configuration
Operators can deploy a single unit and expand into a linked competitive bank of up to four cabinets later — no additional infrastructure required. At 42 inches wide per unit, a four-cabinet bank spans 168 inches, fitting standard arcade wall runs.
Two-Position Roof Reduces Installation Risk
The adjustable roof lowers installed height to 103 inches, clearing game rooms with drop ceilings or HVAC runs that would conflict with a fixed 107-inch profile. Operators confirm ceiling clearance before delivery rather than after.
Recognized IP Communicates at the Cabinet
PAC-MAN is one of the most widely recognized gaming brands globally. Cabinet graphics, sound effects, and branded balls identify the game to walk-up players across age groups — reducing the signage and explanation burden at new installations.
Free Play Mode Via Operator Menu
Switching between coin-op and free play requires no hardware modification — the setting is toggled through the built-in operator menu. This makes the unit usable in both paid-play and hosted-event configurations without additional parts or service visits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can multiple PAC-MAN Baller units be connected together?
Yes. PAC-MAN Baller supports multi-unit linking for up to four machines, allowing players on adjacent cabinets to compete simultaneously. The competitive scoring format is built into the base game and activates across the linked bank.
What are the installed dimensions of the PAC-MAN Baller?
The assembled footprint is 42 inches wide by 98 inches deep. Height is 103 inches with the roof in the down position and approximately 107 inches with the roof raised — operators select the configuration that fits their ceiling clearance.
What's included with the PAC-MAN Baller?
The unit ships with the PAC-MAN Baller basketball arcade cabinet, PAC-MAN branded basketballs, and a built-in sound system with speakers and bass subwoofer. All assembly hardware is included with the shipment.
Does the PAC-MAN Baller dispense tickets?
Yes. PAC-MAN Baller is a ticket redemption game, compatible with standard redemption counter programs at family entertainment centers, arcades, and other venues that operate prize programs.
Ideal Placement
PAC-MAN Baller fits naturally in family entertainment centers, bowling center arcades, trampoline parks, and pizzeria game rooms where a mixed age range shares the same floor. Its 42-inch width accommodates side-by-side bank configurations along standard arcade wall runs. The 103-inch roof-down height fits game rooms with drop ceilings that fall below the roof-up height threshold.
