RFID chips fall onto the playfield. Each one read on contact, triggering an on-screen battle sequence visible from across the room.

Overview

Galaxy Hunter is a two-player coin-pusher redemption game from LAI Games that layers RFID chip collection onto a physical pusher deck, triggering anime-styled space battles on a large playfield screen as players accumulate chips. Coins are launched onto the deck, RFID chips are swept off and read automatically, and each chip collected charges a hero character toward on-screen combat sequences and a spinning reward wheel with ticket payouts.

Key Features

RFID Chip Detection on the Pusher Deck

Colorful RFID-enabled chips circulate on the playfield alongside coins. When a chip falls off the deck, onboard readers identify it instantly and credit it to that player's hero character, advancing their power level and queuing combat animations on the screen above the playfield.

Pre-Built Coin Tower Delivery

When a player earns a coin tower reward, the cabinet delivers a fully assembled tower directly to the playfield rather than dispensing loose coins. Play continues without a pause while the tower is staged, keeping the pusher deck in motion.

On-Screen Power-Up and Battle System

Chips collected charge hero characters through escalating power tiers, each threshold unlocking special attack animations displayed on the large playfield screen. Reaching the top tier triggers a full battle sequence against a cosmic villain, with the outcome displayed prominently above the deck.

Spinning Reward Wheel with Ticket Payout

Winning a battle awards a spin on an on-screen reward wheel. Wheel segments include token releases, bonus chips, and variable ticket totals dispensed through the cabinet's integrated ticket dispenser.

On-Screen Color-Coded Troubleshooting Display

The playfield screen doubles as a diagnostic interface. When an error occurs, the display presents a color-coded guide with an error description, a cabinet diagram with the problem area highlighted, and step-by-step color-matched resolution instructions — all visible to an operator without opening the cabinet.

Universal Payment Compatibility

The cabinet ships with a universal connector and accepts coin, bill acceptor (DBA), and card/cashless card systems. All three input types are supported from a single wiring harness, making payment system swaps straightforward without additional wiring work.

How It Plays

Each player shoots coins onto their side of the pusher deck, working to sweep both coins and RFID chips off the far edge. The moment a chip drops, the reader identifies it and the screen above the deck shows the hero advancing — an animated charge bar fills, and at each threshold a battle sequence fires with visible attack animations. Bystanders watching from the side see the pusher action below and the full-screen space battle above simultaneously, with the reward wheel spin displaying prominently when a villain is defeated.

Why Operators Love It

Onboard Diagnostics Reduce Service Calls

The color-coded troubleshooting system displayed on the playfield screen identifies the fault, pinpoints the cabinet location, and walks through the fix — all without requiring a separate service tablet or printed manual at the machine.

Internal Force Feedback — No Consumables to Restock

Galaxy Hunter circulates its own RFID chips internally. There are no pellets, capsules, or physical prizes inside the cabinet to replenish — the only operator supply task is ticket paper and coin float management.

Single-Harness Payment Upgrades

The universal connector means an operator can switch from coin-only to card reader without rewiring the cabinet. Coin acceptor, bill acceptor, and card system inputs are all pre-wired and ready at installation.

Two-Player Configuration in a Single Cabinet Footprint

Both player positions share one 71" x 50" cabinet, delivering simultaneous two-player capacity without the floor space of two separate machines. The two positions can run cooperatively or competitively depending on play style.

Ideal Placement

Family entertainment centers, redemption arcades, amusement parks, and bowling center game rooms. The dual-player layout and ticket payout structure suit high-traffic redemption floors where side-by-side competitive play is common.
