The basket drifts left, then accelerates unpredictably. The higher the score, the more the basket moves.
Overview
The Kalkomat Big Show Basketball Arcade Machine is a full-size, coin-operated basketball arcade game built for commercial deployment indoors or outdoors. The defining mechanic is a motorized moving basket that shifts position and speed as the player advances through four progressive difficulty levels, making every round play differently from the last. The cabinet is waterproof-rated, ships with five basketballs included, and supports optional upgrades for ticket dispensing, bill acceptance, and card payment.
Key Features
Motorized Moving Basket with Progressive Speed
The basket is mounted on a motorized track that moves laterally across the play surface during gameplay. As players reach higher score thresholds across four difficulty levels, the basket increases speed and introduces less predictable movement patterns. Each session escalates based on player performance rather than a fixed timer — at the highest levels the basket changes direction in ways that require the player to lead the shot.
Interactive Side Panels with Integrated Lighting and Sound
Sensor panels on both sides of the cabinet detect ball movement and react with integrated lighting and sound cues. This extends the active play area beyond the hoop and gives bystanders additional visual feedback throughout a round. The dynamic light and sound response is visible from across a venue floor.
Waterproof Metal and Laminated Polycarbonate Construction
The steel frame is surfaced with laminated polycarbonate panels rated for waterproof use, making the unit suitable for covered outdoor installations — patios, pavilions, beer gardens — in addition to standard indoor venues. The polycarbonate surface resists impact and wear from repeated ball contact over extended operation.
Multiplayer Linking
Multiple Big Show units can be connected to run competitive multiplayer sessions simultaneously across linked cabinets. Each unit operates independently when not linked, so a single-cabinet installation functions without any network configuration.
Operator-Configurable Settings and Payment Hardware
While this Kalkomat unit does not include standard payment methods, you can easily customize it to fit your needs. Upgrade your build with optional coin acceptance, bill validators, or credit card and card reader options.
Six-Wheel Mobility System
Six caster wheels with individual brake locks are mounted on the base. A single operator can reposition the cabinet on a flat surface without tools, then lock each wheel independently once positioned. Assembly is designed to be completed quickly without specialized equipment.
How It Plays
The player shoots from a fixed position while the basket tracks laterally — at lower difficulty levels the motion is slow and readable, but by the third and fourth levels the basket accelerates and changes direction between shots. Digital displays on the cabinet face show live score, credit count, and the all-time record throughout the round. From the side, bystanders watch the basket visibly relocate between each attempt, making each missed shot a legible event rather than a static miss.

Why Operators Love It
Outdoor-Rated Cabinet Expands Placement Options
The waterproof rating on the metal and polycarbonate construction allows deployment in covered outdoor spaces — patios, pavilions, beer gardens — where most basketball arcade cabinets cannot go. This opens placement options that a standard indoor-only unit cannot fill.
Configurable Payout for Any Location Type
The optional ticket dispenser converts the unit to a redemption configuration. The standard cabinet operates without it for pure-play or token formats. Bill acceptor and card reader options let operators match the payment infrastructure already running at each location.
Persistent All-Time Record Display
The digital display retains and shows the all-time high score on the cabinet face during attract mode, requiring no external network connection or additional hardware to maintain. Score, credit count, and the record are all visible simultaneously during play.
Linking Supports Tournament and Event Formats
The multiplayer linking capability allows operators running two or more units to configure head-to-head competitive play across cabinets — a format suited to leagues, events, and venue promotions. Individual units revert to standalone operation when disconnected from the link.
Ideal Placement
Family entertainment centers, bowling alleys, sports bars, hotel game rooms, covered outdoor entertainment areas, and event venues. The linking capability makes it well-suited for locations that run competitive events or leagues across multiple units.
