A mechanical arm lifts each knocked-down clown back into position. The target field resets itself between throws.
Overview
Down the Clown by ICE is a carnival-themed ball-toss redemption game in which players throw balls at clown targets of varying sizes to score points and earn tickets. A mechanical arm automatically lifts knocked-down clowns back into position after each hit, keeping the target field active throughout play. Single and dual-unit configurations are available, with an optional Mega Marquee that connects two cabinets into a unified side-by-side installation.
Key Features
Mechanical Auto-Reset Arm
When a clown target is knocked down, a mechanical arm lifts it back upright automatically. The target field stays populated and interactive throughout the session without any player or operator intervention between throws.
Variable-Size Clown Targets with Bonus Points
The target field consists of clowns in multiple sizes — smaller targets award higher point values, larger ones are easier to knock down. A bonus point structure rewards players who hit specific targets or combinations, including an interactive big bonus target that adds a scoring arc beyond a flat per-target count.
LED-Lit Targets and Marquee — Standard on All New Units
All new Down the Clown units ship with the LED upgrade kit installed. The clown targets and marquee area are fully illuminated, increasing target visibility and the game's presence on the floor. Operators with original units can add the same lighting via ICE's LED Upgrade Kit, available in both single-unit and double-unit versions.
Carnival Audio Package with "Carnie" Voice
The game plays digital carnival-style sound effects throughout each session. A recorded "Carnie" voice calls out commentary during play — heckling, encouraging, and reacting to hits and misses — audible several machines away on a busy arcade floor.
Dual-Unit Side-by-Side Configuration with Mega Marquee
Two cabinets can be placed side by side for simultaneous competitive play. An optional Mega Marquee mounts between the two units, creating a shared overhead display that visually unifies the pair into a single installation.
Factory-Available Options
Down the Clown supports the following factory-available options: coin mech, ticket dispenser, Mega Marquee for two-game installations, and play-to-win free game mode.
How It Plays
The player picks up balls from the return tray and throws them at the clown target field — smaller clowns score more points, larger ones go down more easily, so each throw involves a trade-off. The mechanical arm lifts each knocked clown back into position immediately, so the target field stays full and in motion throughout the session. The "Carnie" voice reacts aloud to every hit and miss, and the LED-lit targets flash on each knockdown, giving bystanders a clear read of the action from across the room.

Why Operators Love It
Retrofit Path for Existing Installs
Operators running earlier Down the Clown units can bring them up to current LED spec with ICE's LED Upgrade Kit — available in single-unit and double-unit versions — without replacing the cabinet. This extends the service life of existing inventory.
Dual-Voltage Power Supply
The cabinet runs on both 110V and 220V at 2.5 amps, making it deployable in North American venues and international locations without a transformer or power conversion hardware.
Configurable Payout and Play Modes
Ticket dispenser, coin mech, and play-to-win free game mode are all factory-available options, letting operators configure the unit for their specific payout structure and venue type at the time of order.
Low Amp Draw for Multi-Unit Floors
At 2.5 amps per unit, Down the Clown places a minimal electrical load on the circuit — operators can run multiple units or pair it with neighboring machines on a shared circuit without concern for breaker capacity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do new Down the Clown units include the LED lighting?
Yes. All new Down the Clown units ship with the LED upgrade kit installed as a standard feature. Operators with units purchased before the LED update can order the kit separately from ICE in either single or double-unit versions.
Can two Down the Clown units be linked together?
Two cabinets can be placed side by side for simultaneous competitive play. An optional Mega Marquee is available to mount between the two units, creating a shared overhead display that unifies the installation visually.
What are the assembled dimensions of the Down the Clown?
The assembled unit measures 120 inches wide by 45 inches deep by 110 inches tall and weighs 557 lbs. The main shipping carton measures 96 x 48 x 70 inches at 620 lbs; a separate rear carton ships at 30 x 48 x 90 inches at 324 lbs.
What payment and payout options are available for Down the Clown?
Down the Clown supports a coin mech, ticket dispenser, and a play-to-win free game mode as factory-available options. These are selected at the time of order to match the operator's venue configuration.
Ideal Placement
Down the Clown fits naturally in family entertainment centers, bowling center arcades, trampoline parks, and pizza restaurant game rooms where the age range skews toward families and younger players. At 120 inches wide in dual-unit configuration, it anchors a midway-style row and works as an end-cap installation in larger arcade floors. The 2.5-amp draw also makes it practical for smaller venues with limited dedicated circuit capacity, such as mini-golf clubhouses or hotel game rooms.
