Twenty-one targets — some stationary, some popping out from the arena wall. The lit ones count down.

Overview

The ICE Dodgeball Ultimate Arena (Standard) is a ball-toss redemption game that translates the schoolyard dodgeball format into a coin-op cabinet. Players throw real soft dodgeballs at 21 targets — a mix of pop-out targets and stationary scoring holes — spread across a dedicated arena playfield. Points convert directly to tickets through ICE's redemption system, with speed rounds and multipliers rewarding faster throws.

The Standard model shares the same gameplay and full 21-target count as the Deluxe version; the difference is cabinet footprint. Built by ICE, the team behind Down The Clown and Milk Jug Toss.

Key Features

21-Target Mixed Arena

The playfield combines pop-out targets that emerge and retract during gameplay with fixed stationary scoring holes. Each target carries a numerical point value displayed on dedicated red LED counters, and those values are operator-adjustable through the cabinet settings. The pop-out targets introduce a timing element: the lit target's counter runs down, so a faster throw scores more points than a delayed one.

Speed Rounds and Score Multipliers

Certain rounds shift into speed mode, where hitting a lit target quickly triggers a point multiplier rather than the base value. A bonus round is built into the scoring progression, giving players an additional window to accumulate tickets beyond standard play. The multiplier structure rewards skilled or returning players who learn target timing.

Up to Four Players, Two-Team Format

The cabinet supports one to four players arranged into two teams — red and blue. Single-player mode runs as a solo training session against the target sequence. Two-player (or two-team) mode pits players head-to-head on the same arena simultaneously, with each team's score tracked separately on the vertically-mounted LCD screen and the LED counters.

Mechanical Ball Gate

Soft dodgeballs are stored behind a mechanical gate that releases them at the start of each game and holds them secure between plays. This keeps stray balls off the floor during idle periods and controls the number of balls in play during a session without operator intervention between rounds.

Configurable Payment and Payout Options

The cabinet ships in two door configurations: a standard coin door with ticket dispenser, or a card swipe / eTickets reader door. Operators can also configure the unit for free play. Available options include coin mech, ticket dispenser, and play-for-free mode — selectable at the time of order.

How It Plays

The player picks up a soft dodgeball from the gate-released supply and throws at whichever target is currently lit, trying to hit it before the numerical LED counter above it counts down. Pop-out targets retract after a hit or a timeout, and new ones emerge in sequence — so the throwing lane stays active throughout the session. From across the arcade floor, the red and blue LED lighting on the cabinet and targets, combined with the vertically-mounted LCD showing live scores, gives the arena a visible scoreboard presence during a full four-player match.

Why Operators Love It

Operator-Adjustable Target Values

The numerical point value displayed on each target's LED counter is adjustable through the operator settings menu. This lets locations tune the ticket payout rate to match their specific redemption program without hardware modifications.

Dual-Voltage Power Supply

The cabinet runs on either 110V at 8 amps or 220V at 4 amps. The dual-voltage capability makes the unit viable for international deployments and venues with non-standard electrical configurations — no step-down transformer required for either setup.

Standard vs. Deluxe Footprint Option

The Standard model's 101 x 133 in footprint is the smaller of the two available configurations — useful for locations where floor space is constrained. Operators who want a larger visual presence can step up to the Deluxe model; both run identical gameplay and the same 21-target count.

Flexible Payment Hardware at Order Time

The door configuration — standard coin door with ticket dispenser, card swipe / eTickets reader, or free play — is selected at time of order, so the unit arrives ready for the location's existing payment infrastructure — no secondary installation needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the ICE Dodgeball Standard and the Deluxe model?

Both models feature identical gameplay mechanics and the same 21-target configuration. The Deluxe version has a larger cabinet footprint, which increases its visual presence on a busy arcade floor. The Standard is the more compact option for locations with tighter floor plans.

How many players can use the ICE Dodgeball Ultimate Arena at once?

The cabinet supports one to four players organized into two teams — red and blue. Single-player mode runs as a solo session; two-player and four-player modes run as head-to-head team competition with separate score tracking for each side.

What payment and payout configurations are available?

The ICE Dodgeball ships with one of three door configurations: standard coin door with ticket dispenser, card swipe / eTickets reader door, or free-play setup. The configuration is specified at the time of order. Ticket payout values are operator-adjustable via the settings menu after installation.

What is the assembled footprint and weight of the Standard model?

Assembled, the Standard measures 101 in wide by 133 in deep by 114 in tall and weighs 2,400 lbs. The unit ships in three boxes, with the largest boxes measuring 90 x 48 x 90 in, so freight planning and venue door clearance should be confirmed before delivery.

Ideal Placement

The ICE Dodgeball Ultimate Arena Standard fits family entertainment centers, trampoline parks, and bowling center arcades where multi-player redemption titles anchor the floor plan. Its 101 x 133 in footprint requires a dedicated open zone rather than a standard wall slot, making it best suited for venues with large-format game areas or open midway-style layouts. Pizza entertainment venues and movie theater lobbies with open game floors are also natural fits given the family-friendly age range the cabinet targets.
