Multi-color LEDs run the full length of the cabinet. A half-inch acrylic surface holds the puck flat at speed.
Overview
The ICE Air FX is a full-size 8-foot commercial air hockey table built for coin-operated deployment in arcades, rinks, FECs, and redemption centers. It introduces the industry's first half-inch thick acrylic playing surface alongside multi-color LED lighting and a newly redesigned PCB — all manufactured by ICE in Buffalo, NY, where the company has been building coin-op air hockey since 1982. The scoring marquee is included as standard equipment.
Key Features
Half-Inch Acrylic Playing Surface
At half an inch thick, the Air FX playing surface is the first of its dimension in the air hockey category. The increased thickness reduces flex under puck impact and provides a more consistent air cushion across the full 93-inch length of the table.
Multi-Color LED Lighting and Backlighting
LED lighting runs along the cabinet and backlights the playing field. The multi-color configuration makes the table visible from across an arcade floor — the lit surface and cabinet edges create a defined visual signature in any room lighting condition.
Standard Scoring Marquee
The scoring marquee ships standard on every Air FX unit. Both players' goal counts display on the marquee overhead, visible to bystanders standing at any angle around the table.
Redesigned PCB
ICE updated the printed circuit board in the current Air FX production run. The new PCB supports the configurable game modes — including goal-count-to-win and timed-game formats — and provides the control logic for the ticket payout option when installed.
Ticket Payout Option
An optional ticket dispenser can be added to the Air FX. Once installed, it can be programmed in two modes: award tickets to the winner only, or award tickets to both players based on goals scored during the game. The mode is set via the operator menu.
Cabinet Customization
ICE offers custom wraps, graphics, and logos applied to both the playfield surface and the side cabinet panels. Available surface options include the purple graphic and the ice hockey surface shown in the product listing. Custom marquees and venue-branded wraps are also available through ICE's customization program.
How It Plays
Two players face off across the 93-inch surface, each with a paddle, pushing one of the four included pucks toward the opposing goal. The factory-recommended format is first to seven goals — but operators can set a different goal target or switch to a timed-game format via the operator menu. From the side of the table, the LED-lit surface and overhead marquee keep the live score readable to anyone watching the match.

Why Operators Love It
Configurable Game Format via Operator Menu
The goal-count target and timed-game mode are both operator-adjustable. Locations with faster throughput needs can shorten matches; venues running league nights or competitive formats can extend them — all without opening the cabinet.
Dual-Voltage Power Supply
The Air FX runs on either 110V or 220V, with corresponding amp draws of 7.00 A and 3.50 A. The dual-voltage capability means the unit can be placed in venues with either standard North American wiring or international/industrial electrical setups without a separate transformer.
Coin Mech and Play-for-Free Switch Options
The Air FX ships ready to accept a coin mechanism or operate on a play-for-free switch — both are available add-ons. This lets the same unit serve coin-op route deployments and free-play venue settings without cabinet modification.
Manufactured and Supported in the USA
ICE has manufactured the Air FX in Buffalo, NY since 1982. Parts, service manuals, and technical support come directly from the manufacturer — domestic sourcing for replacement components reduces downtime on route stops compared to units with overseas-only parts supply chains.
Frequently Asked Questions
What comes standard with the ICE Air FX?
Every Air FX ships with 2 paddles, 4 pucks, and the scoring marquee as standard equipment. The coin mech, ticket dispenser, and play-for-free switch are available options ordered separately.
How does the ticket payout work on the Air FX?
When the optional ticket dispenser is installed, operators can program it in two ways: award tickets to the winner only, or award tickets to both players proportional to the number of goals each scored during the game. The setting is configured through the operator menu.
What are the operator-adjustable settings on the ICE Air FX?
Operators can set the number of goals required to win or switch the format to a timed game. The factory recommendation is first to seven goals, but both the goal target and game duration can be adjusted to suit the location's pace of play.
Can the Air FX cabinet be customized with venue branding?
Yes. ICE offers customization on both the playfield surface and the side cabinet panels. Custom wraps, graphics, logos, and marquees can be specified through ICE's customization program — the purple graphic and ice hockey surface shown in the listing are two of the available playfield options.
Ideal Placement
The Air FX is deployed across arcades, ice rinks, roller rinks, FECs, bowling center game rooms, college student unions, and trampoline parks. At 49 inches wide and 93 inches long, it occupies a footprint comparable to a standard billiard table bay. The unit's 62-inch assembled height fits standard ceiling clearances without modification.
