The jet ski body tilts. Wind blows forward. The air motion platform shifts beneath the rider's feet.
Overview
Wave Riders Extreme from Coastal Amusements is a stand-up jet ski simulator that uses an air motion platform, a physically tilting jet ski body, and an active wind effect to replicate the feel of riding on water. Multiple units link together for head-to-head competitive racing, and the cabinet supports both ticket redemption and amusement-only configurations. The assembled unit weighs 1,900 lbs and ships in two separate crates for a combined freight weight of approximately 1,958 lbs.
Key Features
Air Motion Platform
The cabinet's base is an active air motion platform that shifts and pitches during play. The physical movement tracks the on-screen wave action, producing the sensation of a jet ski responding to water rather than a static surface bolted to the floor.
Tilting Jet Ski Body with Wind Effect
The jet ski body tilts laterally as the player steers, and an integrated wind effect delivers airflow to the rider's face during play. Both mechanisms operate simultaneously, reinforcing the motion platform's physical feedback.
Stand-Up Cabinet Format
The player stands and straddles the jet ski body rather than sitting in a seat. The upright riding posture is visible from across a venue floor and distinguishes the cabinet visually from seated driving and racing simulators.
Multi-Cabinet Linking for Competitive Races
Multiple Wave Riders Extreme units link together so players compete in simultaneous races. Each linked cabinet runs its own motion platform and wind effect independently while all players race on a shared course.
Ticket Redemption or Amusement-Only Operation
The cabinet can be configured for ticket redemption payout or set to amusement-only mode, giving operators the flexibility to match the machine's operation to their venue's redemption program or non-redemption floor layout.
How It Plays
The player stands on the air motion platform, straddles the jet ski body, and steers through wave courses while the cabinet tilts beneath them and wind blows from in front. From the venue floor, bystanders see a rider visibly moving and leaning on a full-size jet ski form — the combined tilt, wind, and upright posture read as active physical motion rather than a seated video game.

Why Operators Love It
Ships in Two Separate Crates for Easier Handling
The cabinet arrives split across a main crate and a rear crate, each with its own documented dimensions and weights. Breaking a large simulator into two manageable pieces simplifies freight handling, doorway navigation, and placement on the venue floor.
Configurable Payout Mode Per Location
Operators switch between ticket redemption and amusement-only operation at setup, so the same unit works on a redemption floor or in a bar or sports venue where ticket payout is not part of the program.
Scalable with Linked Units
A single Wave Riders Extreme operates as a standalone unit. As floor space or demand warrants, additional cabinets link into a competitive race setup, allowing an operator to expand the installation incrementally rather than committing to a full multi-player footprint at purchase.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the assembled footprint of the Wave Riders Extreme?
The assembled cabinet measures 49 inches wide, 101 inches deep, and 89 inches tall. The deep footprint reflects the full stand-up jet ski body and motion platform extending behind the rider's position.
How does the Wave Riders Extreme ship?
The unit ships in two separate crates. The main crate measures 67 x 46 x 46 inches and weighs 1,138 lbs; the rear crate measures 27 x 48 x 89 inches and weighs 820 lbs. Combined shipping weight is approximately 1,958 lbs, and assembled weight is 1,900 lbs.
Can multiple Wave Riders Extreme units be connected for racing?
Yes. Multiple cabinets link together to run competitive side-by-side races. Each linked unit operates its own motion platform and wind effect independently while all players race on a shared course.
Does the Wave Riders Extreme dispense tickets?
The cabinet supports both ticket redemption and amusement-only modes. Operators select the configuration that matches their venue's payout program at setup.
Ideal Placement
Wave Riders Extreme fits family entertainment centers, trampoline parks, and bowling center arcades where floor space accommodates a 101-inch-deep simulator footprint and ceiling clearance supports the 89-inch cabinet height. The stand-up format also suits bar and tavern game rooms seeking a simulator that reads as active from across the room. Linked multi-unit race configurations work well in FEC main floors and attraction lobbies where the competitive format supports group play.
