Two players slide pucks down the same plexiglass-covered lane. Three game modes change what counts as a score each round.

Overview

The Benchmark Games Shuffleboard is a two-player, full-skill redemption cabinet that packs three distinct game modes into a 37-inch-wide footprint, purpose-built for bars, taverns, and smaller arcade locations. Players slide pucks down a plexiglass-covered playfield, competing for ticket payouts across Normal, Occupy, and Puck Strike modes. RGB LED lighting and a bright overhead marquee give the cabinet strong floor presence without demanding the square footage of a full-length shuffleboard table.

Key Features

Three Distinct Game Modes in One Cabinet

Normal mode tasks players with getting their puck down the ramp while staying on the playfield. Occupy mode scores points by landing pucks inside target circles. Puck Strike mode has players shooting through targets, with spin applied to the puck used to outmaneuver the opponent. Each mode scores differently, requiring a different approach from the same physical lane.

Mechanized Puck Retrieval

Pucks return to the player automatically after each round. Operator access to the retrieval mechanism is built into the cabinet, keeping service time short between rounds without tools or disassembly.

Plexiglass Playfield Cover

A full plexiglass cover runs the length of the playfield, preventing players from reaching in to reposition pucks mid-round. It also protects the lane surface from spills and debris common in bar and tavern environments.

RGB LED Lighting and Lit Marquee

The cabinet runs full RGB LED lighting along the cabinet body alongside a bright overhead marquee. Both are visible from across a bar floor or arcade aisle, drawing attention to an active game in progress.

Six Integrated Metal Cup Holders

Six metal cup holders are built into the cabinet frame — positioned for both player stations. In bar and tavern settings, this keeps drinks off the playfield and players planted at the machine for the duration of a game.

Ticket Redemption with Configurable Payment

The cabinet includes ticket output for redemption play. Payment is configurable for coin or card swipe systems, allowing placement in venues with different payment setups without requiring separate reader hardware.

How It Plays

Both players stand at the same end of the lane and take turns sliding pucks toward the far scoring zone — the target layout and scoring rules shift depending on which of the three modes is active. In Puck Strike, a player can put spin on the puck to angle it through a target or redirect an opponent's puck. From the side of the lane, bystanders can watch both pucks travel under the plexiglass cover and see the score update after each slide.

Why Operators Love It

37-Inch Width Fits Bar and Tavern Wall Slots

At 37 inches wide, the cabinet fits standard bar-floor spaces where a full-size shuffleboard table would not. The 97.25-inch depth is the primary floor commitment — comparable to a pool table's short side, manageable in most tavern layouts.

Full-Skill Mechanic for Coin-Op Placement

All three game modes are described by Benchmark as full-skill — scoring is determined entirely by where the player places the puck, with no random element. This makes the cabinet suitable for locations that require skill-based play for coin-operated equipment.

Plexiglass Cover Limits Tamper Incidents

The full-length plexiglass cover physically prevents players from reaching the pucks mid-round — reducing disputes and service calls in high-turnover bar environments. It also shields the lane surface from liquid spills, which extends lane maintenance intervals.

Three Modes Extend Single-Cabinet Play Variety

Normal, Occupy, and Puck Strike each score differently, so repeat players are not replaying an identical game. One cabinet covers three competitive formats without requiring additional floor space or a second machine.

Ideal Placement

Bars, taverns, and smaller arcade locations with limited floor space are the primary fit. The cup holder configuration and skill-based play also suit restaurant entertainment areas and family entertainment centers with redemption programs.
