Five claws. One joystick. All five descend at the same instant.
Overview
The Sega High Five is a patent-pending five-claw crane game controlled by a single joystick, giving players a shot at winning up to five prizes in a single play. The frameless transparent cabinet front with vibrant edge lighting turns the prize field into a floor-level display piece, visible from across the arcade. Five independent prize lanes let operators stock different prizes simultaneously, tailoring the cabinet to any audience.
Key Features
Patent-Pending Five-Claw Mechanism
A single joystick positions all five claws simultaneously over the prize lanes. When the player drops the claws, all five descend at once — each aligned to its own lane. The mechanism is patent-pending, and no comparable multi-claw single-joystick configuration exists in the standard crane category.
Frameless Transparent Cabinet Front with Edge Lighting
The cabinet's front panel is frameless and fully transparent, with no structural border interrupting the prize view. Vibrant edge lighting runs the perimeter of the transparent front, backlighting the prize field and producing an illuminated border visible from wide approach angles on the floor.
Mirrored Backdrop
A mirrored rear panel reflects the prize field forward, doubling the visible prize depth from the player's vantage point. Prizes in the rear lanes appear in both the direct view and the mirror, filling the cabinet's visual field at full stocking levels.
Five Independent Prize Lanes
The prize area is divided into five separate lanes, each stocked independently. Operators can run up to five different prize types simultaneously — mixing plush sizes, bag clips, or other merchandise within a single cabinet. The lanes are sized for 8 cm (3 in) plush bag clips and plush prizes ranging from 10 cm (4 in) to 18 cm (7 in).
Front-Entry Access for Restocking
The prize chamber opens from the front of the cabinet, allowing operators to restock without moving the unit away from the wall or repositioning adjacent machines. The large prize capacity reduces restock frequency relative to single-lane crane configurations.
How It Plays
The player uses a single joystick to move all five claws in unison across the prize lanes, then presses one button — and all five claws drop simultaneously into the prize field. From the side or front of the machine, bystanders see the full five-claw array descend at once, a visual event that reads as a coordinated multi-grab rather than the single-point drop of a conventional crane. The transparent front and edge lighting keep the entire mechanism visible throughout the play cycle.

Why Operators Love It
Front-Entry Restocking Without Repositioning
The prize chamber opens from the front face of the cabinet. Operators can restock all five lanes without pulling the machine off the wall or clearing adjacent units — a practical advantage in tight arcade floor layouts.
Dual-Voltage Power Supply
The High Five runs on both 110V and 220V at 3.7 amps, making it deployable across North American and international venue configurations without a step-up transformer or electrical retrofit.
Per-Lane Prize Configuration
Each of the five lanes stocks independently, so operators can adjust prize mix by lane — separating age groups, price tiers, or prize categories within a single cabinet footprint. No physical modification is required to change the lane contents.
Floor-Level Sightlines on a Standard Crane Footprint
At 49 in wide and 45 in deep, the High Five occupies a footprint comparable to conventional dual-player crane cabinets while delivering a five-claw experience. The frameless transparent front means the prize field and claw mechanism are visible from any approach angle without a structural border blocking the view.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many claws does the Sega High Five have, and how are they controlled?
The High Five uses a patent-pending five-claw mechanism operated by a single joystick. One player controls all five claws together — positioning them across the prize lanes and dropping all five simultaneously with a single button press.
What prize sizes fit in the Sega High Five?
The cabinet is sized for 8 cm (3 in) plush bag clips and plush prizes ranging from 10 cm (4 in) to 18 cm (7 in). The five independent lanes allow different prize sizes or types to be stocked in the same cabinet at the same time.
How is the High Five restocked on the floor?
The prize chamber is accessed from the front of the cabinet, so restocking does not require moving the machine. The large prize capacity also extends the interval between restock visits compared to single-lane crane configurations.
What are the assembled dimensions and power requirements of the High Five?
Assembled, the High Five measures 49 in W x 45 in D x 98 in H and weighs 683 lbs. It operates on 110V or 220V at 3.7 amps and 800 watts, compatible with standard North American and international venue electrical configurations.
Ideal Placement
The High Five is built for high-traffic redemption environments: family entertainment centers, bowling center arcades, trampoline parks, and mall arcades where a crane section anchors the floor plan. Its 98-inch assembled height suits standard commercial arcade ceiling clearances, and the transparent front performs well in both brightly lit and ambient-lit venue interiors. Pizzerias and movie theater lobbies with dedicated game areas are also strong fits given the single-player, single-credit play cycle.
