Chase LEDs ring the cabinet base. An overhead UV gantry spans the full table width. Every goal fires both at once.
Overview
The Sega All Stars Air Hockey is a commercial air hockey table built for two or four players simultaneously, featuring Sonic the Hedgehog branding throughout. The aluminum cabinet houses a scratch-resistant polycarbonate playfield, an overhead scoring gantry, and three independent lighting zones — under-cabinet mood lighting, chase LEDs, and overhead UV lights — all triggered automatically by game events. The built-in redemption mechanism and adjustable ticket payout are operator-configurable, making the table suitable for both redemption and non-redemption venues.
Key Features
Three-Zone Lighting System
The table runs three distinct lighting zones simultaneously: under-cabinet mood lighting that washes the floor around the unit, chase LEDs that run along the cabinet body, and overhead UV lights mounted on the lighting gantry above the playfield. Each zone is visible from a different sightline — the under-cabinet glow reads from across the room at floor level, the chase lights read from mid-distance, and the UV overhead reads from directly above or alongside the table.
Goal-Triggered Audio and Light Effects
Each goal activates a synchronized burst of Sonic-themed audio and lighting effects built into the table. The effects fire automatically on the scoring event — no button press or operator input required — and play out across the full table for both sides. The Sonic All-Stars audio package is distinct from generic air hockey sound kits and identifiable from outside the immediate play area.
Overhead Scoring Gantry with Time and Score Display
An overhead gantry structure spans the table and displays both the score and elapsed game time above the playfield. The elevated position keeps both values readable by players on either end simultaneously without turning away from the puck, and the display height makes it readable by bystanders standing alongside the table.
Polycarbonate Playfield and Aluminum Cabinet Construction
The playing surface is scratch-resistant polycarbonate, rated for high-volume puck traffic in continuous-use commercial environments. The cabinet body is aluminum with safety guards running along the sides and the center divider, containing the puck while leaving the full lit playfield visible to bystanders positioned beside the table.
Operator-Configurable Redemption System
The table ships with two electronic coin mechanisms and two ticket dispensers installed. The redemption mechanism can be switched on or off by the operator, and the ticket payout count per game is adjustable — allowing the same unit to run as a straight-play table or a redemption game depending on the venue's payout program. Two coin mechs support simultaneous payment from both ends of the table in four-player mode.
How It Plays
Players take positions at opposite ends — one or two per side in four-player mode — and drive the puck across the polycarbonate surface toward the opposing goal. Every scored goal fires the Sonic-themed audio package and a synchronized lighting burst across all three lighting zones, giving bystanders standing anywhere around the table a clear read on the scoring moment. The transparent side and center safety guards keep the puck in bounds while leaving the full lit playfield visible from outside the immediate play area.

Why Operators Love It
Redemption On/Off Switch Fits Any Location's Program
The redemption mechanism toggles on or off at the operator level, and ticket count per game is independently adjustable. A single unit can run as straight-play in one venue and redemption in another — no hardware swap required between placements.
Dual-Voltage Input Fits Standard North American Wiring
The table accepts 110V at 6 amps or 220V at 3 amps — both at 660 watts total draw. Operators placing the unit in venues with standard North American outlets run it as delivered, with no step-down transformer or electrical modification needed.
Per-End Coin Mechs Support Four-Player Payment
Two electronic coin mechanisms — one at each end of the table — allow each team to pay in independently in four-player mode. Both ends can start a game without one side waiting on the other to collect payment first.
One-Year Parts Warranty with Shipping Included
Sega's warranty covers parts for one year and includes the cost of shipping replacement parts. Operators on route or at fixed venues receive replacement components without a separate freight charge on warranty claims.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many players can use the Sega All Stars Air Hockey at once?
The table supports two or four players on a single cabinet. In four-player mode, two players stand at each end for team-format play. Both configurations use the same unit with no hardware changes between formats.
What are the assembled dimensions of the Sega All Stars Air Hockey?
The assembled cabinet measures 90 inches wide by 66 inches deep by 85 inches tall and weighs 500 lbs. Plan for player clearance on all four sides — particularly the long sides in four-player mode — when locating the unit on the floor.
Can the Sega All Stars Air Hockey be run without ticket redemption?
Yes. The redemption mechanism switches on or off at the operator level, and the ticket payout count is independently adjustable. Venues that do not run a redemption program can operate the table as a straight-play unit without removing any hardware.
What voltage does the Sega All Stars Air Hockey require?
The unit operates on either 110V at 6 amps or 220V at 3 amps, both at 660 watts total. The dual-voltage input means the table installs on standard North American outlets as shipped, with no additional electrical hardware required.
Ideal Placement
The Sega All Stars Air Hockey suits sports bars, bar and tavern game rooms, and family entertainment centers where group table games anchor the floor plan. The 90 x 66 inch footprint fits open game room floors in bowling center arcades and trampoline parks sized for larger amusement equipment. The Sonic the Hedgehog theme also makes the unit a natural fit in FEC game rooms and college student unions running a family-oriented or pop-culture game room component.
