A foam mallet. A sensor pad. Two red LED displays counting down the bonus zone from across the room.
Overview
The ICE Whack N' Win is a midway-style redemption game built on a straightforward mechanic: strike the sensor pad with the foam mallet and time your hit to land in the bonus win zone. ICE has manufactured this game in Buffalo, NY since 1983, and it is available in two tower heights — 9 feet and 11 feet — to fit venues with varying ceiling clearance.
Key Features
Sensor Pad and Foam Mallet Mechanism
The play surface is a sensor pad that registers the force and timing of each mallet strike. Because the sensor reads the hit electronically rather than mechanically, the result is determined by timing accuracy, not by how hard the player swings. The foam mallet keeps the interaction accessible across age groups.
Dual Red LED Bonus Displays
Two red LED displays mounted on the tower show the adjustable bonus value in real time. The bonus is operator-configurable, and both displays are visible from a distance, broadcasting the current bonus target to anyone nearby.
Bright Tower Lighting
The tower is fitted with bright lighting that runs the full height of the cabinet. At 9 or 11 feet tall, the lit column is visible from across a game room floor, creating a visible vertical landmark in any venue layout.
Two Tower Heights — 9 ft and 11 ft
The 9-foot version (assembled height 108 in) is designed for venues where ceiling clearance is limited. The 11-foot version (assembled height 132 in) adds tower presence and a marquee option that brings total height to 136 inches. Both versions share the same 53 x 45 in floor footprint.
Optional Marquee Configuration
A marquee is available for both tower heights and can be shared across two games configured side by side. The marquee requires two Whack N' Win units per installation and runs on 110V at 3 amps / 220V at 1.5 amps. The marquee assembly measures 48 x 99 x 138 in assembled.
How It Plays
The player grips the foam mallet and strikes the sensor pad, trying to time the hit so the scoring indicator lands inside the bonus win zone on the tower display. The skill element is in the timing of the strike, not the force behind it. From across the venue, bystanders see the tall lit tower react to each hit — the LED displays update and the lighting responds — making each play read as a visible event at height.

Why Operators Love It
Ceiling-Clearance Flexibility
Two tower heights — 9 ft and 11 ft — let operators place the game in venues where a full-height tower would not clear the ceiling. Both models share the same 53 x 45 in floor footprint, so the slot requirement is identical regardless of which height is installed.
Adjustable Bonus — Operator-Configurable Payout
The bonus value shown on the LED displays is operator-adjustable, allowing ticket payout levels to be set per location and revisited as needed without hardware changes.
Domestic Manufacturing and Parts Availability
ICE has manufactured Whack N' Win in Buffalo, NY since 1983. As the OEM, ICE maintains replacement parts, service manuals, and technical support documentation for the unit — reducing parts-sourcing delays when service is needed.
Optional Double-Deep Ticket Bin Reduces Reload Frequency
The double-deep ticket bin holds a larger ticket load than a standard-depth bin, extending the interval between staff reloads. The dual dispenser configuration means both ticket feeds run simultaneously without requiring a secondary cabinet.
Frequently Asked Questions
What tower heights does the Whack N' Win come in?
The Whack N' Win is available in 9-foot and 11-foot versions. ICE notes that if ceiling height is not a constraint, the 11-foot version is generally recommended. Adding the optional marquee brings total height to 136 inches.
Does the Whack N' Win include a ticket dispenser?
NO. The Whack N' Win supports a dual ticket dispenser and a double-deep ticket bin as standard equipment. A coin mech is also optional. The machine ships standard set up for card systems.
Is a marquee available for the Whack N' Win?
Yes. A marquee is available and is designed to span two Whack N' Win units placed side by side — two games are required per marquee installation. The marquee is available for both the 9-foot and 11-foot versions. ICE offers different tower configurations; contact an ICE sales representative for specifics.
What are the power requirements for the Whack N' Win?
Each game unit draws 110V at 5.00 amps or 220V at 2.50 amps. The optional marquee add-on draws 110V at 3 amps or 220V at 1.5 amps and requires its own power connection.
Ideal Placement
The Whack N' Win is a natural fit for family entertainment centers, bowling center arcades, skating rinks, trampoline parks, and redemption arcades where vertical landmark pieces anchor the floor plan. The 9-foot version opens placement in venues with lower ceiling clearance — hotel game rooms, restaurant waiting areas, and smaller standalone arcades — where the 11-foot unit would not fit.
